The organisation focuses on Cell Therapy and Viral Vector Manufacturing & Development, offering state-of-the-art development labs and GMP suites for advancing next-generation therapeutics. The company supports the translation of research and early-stage clinical programs into treatments for patients.

As a Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will play a pivotal role in bridging the organisation’s strategic vision with operational realities. You will manage Manufacturing, Facilities, Maintenance, Health & Safety, Supply Chain, and Project Management activities. This role requires dynamic leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on involvement in technology transfer, production, and compliance. With a solid background in advanced therapies, you will collaborate with R&D, quality, regulatory teams, and external stakeholders as well as oversee the setup and execution of Personnel Qualification sessions for aseptic processing.

Wat jij mee brengt

To be successful in this role, the ideal professional has a strong operations background in the Biotechnology industry. Next to this, you have: 
 
  • University Degree in Business, Sciences, or Engineering with previous experience overseeing site operational readiness activities, ideally in CDMO for Viral Vector, Cell Therapy, Antibody, or Vaccine production; 
  • 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with 5+ years managing cell and gene therapy production entities; 
  • Technical proficiency in scaling up manufacturing processes (10 L to 200 L batches); 
  • Aseptic handling and cleanroom operations experience; 
  • Demonstrated leadership with direct team supervision; 
  • Exceptional organisational skills in fast-paced environments; 
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
