For NIZO, an independent contract research organisation located in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Manager. As a Business Intelligence Manager, you will identify new opportunities and define new service and product offerings to expand and grow (beyond) their current portfolio.

At NIZO, they help their customers address todays key challenges and opportunities in their markets: transitioning to healthier and clean label foods, more sustainable production processes, transitioning to more plant-based proteins, new products from next generation probiotics and live biotherapeutics and demonstrating efficacy through clinical and microbiome research.


In your role as Business Development Manager, you will work intimately with relevant external and internal stakeholders. This will enable you to identify unmet customer needs for new product/business opportunities and assist in developing product/service concepts for both existing and new markets/customers. This requires an understanding of market trends and dynamics, competitive landscape as well as translating customer needs into tangible new product/service opportunities. You will set up a business intelligence architecture to collect, analyse and efficiently distribute market/customer/competitor information across the organisation. This will enable you to maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in NIZO’s key markets and applicants.


  • Master degree in life sciences
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of business experience
  • Proven track record in managing market researches
  • We are looking for someone that is determined, results-oriented, social, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic
  • You thrive in a team and are experienced in working in an environment of competing priorities while managing multiple projects
  • You have excellent communication skills with experience in developing messages to different target audiences and levels
  • Open for frequent travelling
