For Check-Points, an internationally growing provider of molecular test kits that prevent infectious outbreaks, we are looking for a Commercial Director who is ready to drive change. All over the world there are animal protein producers, food companies and microbiology laboratories that constantly have the risk of an infectious outbreak. The molecular test kits that you will provide contains cutting-edge technology that is unique in its league. When a case of salmonella breaks out, the test kit will expose the source within the shortest time momentarily possible. With over hundreds types op salmonella, this kit can tell you exactly which type is active and wether it is deadly or not. At the moment main buyers are in the United States and South-America, who invested in poultry but the aim is to widen the scope to other kinds of livestock as well. Doing so, the organisation helps feed the world with the lowest amount of risks possible.

You will be directly working with the CEO, getting complete creative freedom to drive the change you think is necessary. The team consists out of a Commercial Director, Sales Manager, four Sales Employees, a Student and two representatives in America who are in need of a real leader. Are you that person?


As the Commercial Director, you will aim to reach the company goal to double the current turnover in three years and expand the worldwide network of steady buyers. To accomplish these goals you will need to get the sales department into shape by rolling out a global commercial plan, activate the team and lead them to success. This creates a workload that will have you working overseas for about 50% while the other 50% you spend at headquarters. In order to be able to reach these goals the CEO believes it is necessary to give creative freedom to the Commercial Director, with that freedom comes responsibility. The responsibility to not do things alone, but to get the team behind you, to see opportunity, seize and own it. Growth and opportunity is to be found everywhere, including Africa, Asia and Oceania. If you think it is a wise decision to collaborate with a laboratory in Pakistan or a cattle farm in Australia, then go for it. You are executing the strategy that you help develop so get ready and suit up.


What we like to see in the ideal candidate is:

  • A scientific background (veterinary, biology, (bio)technical)
  • Relevant work experience in the sales of molecular diagnostics, or technical sales experience towards the food industry and commercial laboratories
  • International sales experience
  • A real leader who spots opportunity and seizes it, together with the team
  • Able to define and roll-out a global commercial plan
  • An energy and enthusiasm that is unique and authentic
