V-Bio Ventures, the leading Venture Capital fund focused on the life sciences sector, is looking for an Investment Analyst. They work closely with Belgium-based VIB, one of the world’s premier life science institutes. V-Bio Ventures invests throughout Europe in start-up and early-stage companies with high growth potential.The focus is on technologies that provide transformational improvements in the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and agricultural sectors. Their extensive network and expertise in the sector allows them to contribute more than just capital, they aim to be part of the DNA of the new ventures that they support.
For the expansion of their team, V-Bio Ventures is looking to recruit an Investment Analyst who is looking for a first-time experience in the world of venture capital. You will work under the guidance of both the managing directors. Under their mentorship you will build up great insights into the life sciences venture capital industry, and you will learn about investment decision making in the broadest sense of the word. The role requires intense involvement into the deal process, which means that you get to assist the partners in every aspect of their role. Through interacting with scientists and potential target companies, you will learn more about their business and will be able to better evaluate the potential of the individual investment opportunity. Since V-Bio Ventures will share their knowledge on the entire investment cycle, they are looking for someone who has a natural curiosity for broadening his/her understanding of drug discovery and the world of venture capital. A general understanding of the parameters critical for the success of discovery projects (pharmacology, pharmacokinetics,) is expected. This is a very entrepreneurial role and requires a strong degree of autonomy in the day-to-day work. They understand that in most cases it might be your first time, but having the urge to learn, adapt, and do is very important to them. You will need strong networking capabilities since in most cases you will need to acquire information from outside of your own knowledge sphere.
