Product Manager - Ghent

The organisation concerned is a manufacturer of vegetable oils and fats for the B2B food industry and is currently looking for a Product Manager in Ghent (Belgium). The head office and production site is located in Ghent and they have other international offices in Barcelona (Spain) and Moscow (Russia). They have more than 25 years of experience in developing innovative and value-added solutions for applications where the right choice of vegetable oils & fats really makes a difference.

Functie

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the product portfolio to drive competitive and profitable business growth and developing new business through executing and implementing a well defined industry strategy. To achieve this you will manage and optimise prioritised product segments in relation to product range, value propositions and marketing material and support the new product development pipeline with clearly identified market/application needs and supporting market data.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Ownership of the product portfolio including product names and trademarks
• Manage analysis of product profitability, suggests thresholds for new products and product exits
• Actively working to find new business opportunities in the market
• Support sales with price guidelines on request
• Working with sales to identify and develop growth accounts
• Monitoring of competitors compiling a strong knowledge base for sharing
• Managing the content and level of industry specific customer activities (innovation day, seminars etc.) and collateral materials
• Monitoring the industry opportunity pipeline and guide sales
• Managing the industry web content
• Leading and executing BDM projects prioritised by the BDM leadership team

Functie-eisen

• Five or more years of product management experience within a B2B food environment
• Bachelor in food science or chemistry or similar field
• Proven track record in project management within cross functional teams
• Highly ambitious and willingness to learn
• Business level English, both verbal and written (Dutch is considered a plus)
• Availability and willingness to travel internationally (approximately 20/30%)
