Security Engineer
Partnering with an established biopharma client in Leiden, we are looking for an experienced Security Engineer. This is a solo role with direct impact – you will protect critical systems inside a lean, entrepreneurial company that develops and manufactures treatments that directly affect patients' lives. The company is modernizing its security landscape, and they need someone to own it.

Zo maak jij het verschil
- Spotting gaps and translating them into concrete improvements
- Hardening Azure workloads (AVD, Entra ID, endpoints, network)
- Securing cloud, on-prem, and OT environments including network segmentation and connectivity
- Leading incident response from investigation to lessons learned
- Managing an external security consultancy partner - and progressively taking ownership of what they currently cover
- Supporting NIS2 compliance, audits, and pen tests
- Being the go-to security voice for both technical teams and business stakeholders
Wat nodig is
Wat jij mee brengt
- You have 6–10 years in information security, crucially with a track record of building
- You've operated independently. You own your roadmap and do not require sign-off to act
- You're Azure-strong: AZ-500, SC-300, SC-200 level, or demonstrably equivalent
- You've worked in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (NIS2, pharma, manufacturing)
- You can manage external partners and earn stakeholder trust, push back when you disagree, and back it up
- You're based in or willing to commute to Leiden minimum 3 days/week
